Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This is Vinnie/Roger doing what he does best - playing fetch. He LOVES playing fetch and would love to be doing so with a favorite human, in his very own forever and day home, and on soft grass instead of hard rocks. We are a bit baffled as to why there has been very little interest in him. He's as handsome as can be and his talent to play ball is well known and he is quite happy to play independently, as well. Vinnie is about 4 years old and for the first 2 years of his life lived outside a lot so he learned to be independent and to entertain himself. His first owner died and he went to live with a family member - all was well until another dog (a St. Bernard) came into the home and then Vinnie started protecting the things he has always loved and depended on....his toys. His family decided to "re-home" him and gave him to an elderly man - he wasn't with him long before he got loose from him. The police picked Vinnie up and brought him to me. We posted pictures of him and after awhile someone recognized him and notified his previous family. I went out to meet them and they told me a bit about him and that his name was really "Roger" - and I can tell you that if you really want him to do something it is best to use "Roger" smile emoticon Anyway - they tried to call the man they gave him to but his phone was disconnected - and he wasn't soHemeone they really knew. So he has been here at Juvie Central learning manners and some basic commands. He is well deserving of a special family and home, just as all animals and would make some family very happy showing off all of his talents. He would be fine with older children and he's fine with other dogs as long there are no toys around that he would have to defend. If you think you are that special someone that could welcome Vinnie/Roger and appreciate his ball playing skills please contact Legacy Dog Rescue via their website at www.ldrofohio.org
Our adoption process starts with our application. Once the application is approved, a member of Legacy will contact you to set up a home visit. The home visit usually last 1-11/2 hours and is to make sure our dog and any current dogs/cats are getting along, as well as both of us agreeing it's a fit. At this time the adoption fee is due, and begins the 2 week trial. We will check in during the 2 week trial. If it's not working, our dog is returned to the foster home and all except $50.00 of the adoption fee is returned. At the end of the 2 week trial, you decide if you will finalize the adoption - if finalized, the Adoption Contract is signed and all medical records are turned over to you. If at any time you need to rehome the dog it contractually needs to be returned to Legacy Dog Rescue.
