My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Maddie... a very sweet, 4-year-old, black & tan dapple Dachshund girl! She is a 'tweenie', weighing about 16-lbs., although she needs to loose a pound or two. Maddie gets along with the other dogs in her foster home, and is friendly with people she meets, although she is a little shy at first. She is very well housetrained, and will stay in a crate when left alone. She does however, enjoy sleeping in the 'big person bed'... who can blame her? Maddie walks well on a leash and enjoys going for rides in the car.

We feel that Maddie's forever home should have a fenced yard and somebody home during much of the day. A home with other dogs will be fine, but she will also do well as an 'only dog', as long as she has human companionship. Could this special little Doxie girl be the perfect canine addition for your family?

Maddie is spayed, microchipped, current on her Rabies and DHP/Parvo vaccines, tested negative for Heartworms and intestinal parasites, and is on Heartworm prevention.

Maddie's adoption fee is $225.00.

FHCR adopts out-of-state, but we never 'ship' or 'transport' our pets. An approved adopter must come to NC to meet their new canine companion and then take him/her back home with them.

If you are interested in Maddie, and think she may be your ideal canine companion, please visit our website at foreverhomek9rescue.org for information on our adoption process and to download an application, or you may e-mail us at foreverhomeK9rescue@yahoo.com for additional information, or to request an application.

Home Canine Rescue offers a 3-week trial adoption period with all our adoptions, just to be sure that the pet is a good match for the adoptive family. The fee is refunded if the adoption does not work out within the trial period. We want to be sure that each of our pets will have the perfect “forever” home!
