Shadow's Story...
Shadow was adopted as a 12-week old from Campus Cats back in December 2009. Six years later he was dumped at Animal Control by the only family he has ever known JUST BECAUSE THEY HAD A BABY AND DID NOT KNOW HOW HE WOULD ACT AROUND IT. We contacted the former owners to ask if he ever gave them any reason to be concerned, and they said no, he was a very sweet and companionable cat, but they didn't want to take a chance. They apparently tried to put him outside and he is terrified of the outdoors and of other cats. We have confirmed that he does not like to be around other cats. Shadow needs a person or family who will keep him as a forever cat this time. He needs an indoor-only home, and would be very happy as an only cat. If you are looking for a cat to be your one and only, please consider this gorgeous black cat. He is neutered and current on vaccinations. Contact Kelly at feralcatcaregivers@yahoo.com to give Shadow a second chance.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shadow, a Wakinsville Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Wakinsville, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Wakinsville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Wakinsville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Wakinsville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Wakinsville paves the way for another one to be saved.
