My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sweet Gussie is an approximately 3 yrs old spayed German Shepherd. She is a smaller to medium sized girl who loves being a lap dog, and is happiest being near her person, snuggling and giving kisses, and she loves being petted and loved back. She is well over the silly naughty puppy stage and seems to likes just being a low energy homebody in a quiet home.

January she was hit by a car which resulted in a shattered leg, and that is when Saving Paws rescued her from the County Animal Control, and tended to her medical needs. She has just been released from medical treatment and is available for adoption. During her time with us in her foster home, she has NEVER done anything naughty- Not a destructive chewer, biter, barker, doesn't even beg for food, and she's totally housebroken. She is fine staying home alone if her person needs to run errands.

We never know a rescued dogs history but her only slight oddity is she is shy to new people, and she is very scared to be outside walking on a leash. With proper training she should overcome this. She also seems to have no idea what toys are for, or how to play, but boy does she love to snuggle. Probably a home with no small children would be best because she cowers at fast movements as if she previously has been hit. If you want a guard dog, Gussie is Not the girl for you, but if you want a devoted, appreciative loving quiet dog, Gussie is it.
As always, if you are interested in a Saving Paws dog, you must fill out our online application to get the approval process started. We will only schedule meet & greets with an approved application! Here is the link:
