My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I'm Bones! I am most likely a hound mix and I am looking for my perfect forever home! My foster family said I was at the shelter for several months & unfortunately, due to lack of space, my time was up. Thankfully they had a special bond with me and couldn't let anything happen to me, they quickly picked me up from the shelter & took me back to their veterinary hospital where they work to keep me safe. When I was rescued, my foster family discovered I had heartworm disease, but they had me fully treated and now I am heartworm negative and healthy as a horse (just a tiny bit smaller)!

I love everyone (people, kids, dogs, you name it) going new places, and playing with anyone who will play with me. I am a fast learner & I already know how to sit, shake, lay down, stay, and we are working on leash training (I do great with an Easy Walk or a Freedom Harness).

When my foster family first rescued me, I would get SUPER excited an jump a lot - but they have taught me better ways of showing my excitement (because apparently jumping up to people isn't polite). Occasionally I still have a moment where get really excited and jump up, but it doesn't happen often. Because of this my foster family says I would probably do best with a family with children over the age of 10 years old (just in case I can't contain my excitement - I would feel terrible if I knocked someone down). Other than that, the only "bad habit" my foster mom says I still need to work on is I love to "counter surf" - because you never know what delicious goodies could be waiting on the counter! I am really good with other dogs, I share my toys politely, and LOVE to play! *I am still learning that soft stuffed animal toys shouldn't be shredded - but it is a lot of fun!

I have been neutered and I am up-to-date on vaccinations.
