We got a very concerned email from Houston about sweet Lucca ...the shelter was set on finding a home for this very beautiful Cockapoo with the most amazing eyes that speak of great wisdom. You have to really use your imagination to see beyond the shaved to the skin grooming (Lucca was matted beyond saving any coat). With the help of great nutrition and clean conditions, Lucca's stunning Cockapoo coat will grow in true to his breeds.
Lucca, at 2.5 - 3 years old and 30 lbs (perfect size for hiking the amazing Colorado trails) has been recognized for his goodness and sweet personality. But as special as Lucca is on the outside, it just doesn't compare with the love and good-will that flows from the heart of this pup.
Lucca aced his temperament testing and got a perfect score on his vetting assessment. So...off he went to his foster home to be reminded of respectful house skills and to wait for his transport to Boulder and a brand new life. Since Lucca has gotten an A for sweetness and general positive behavior...he's ready to be a devoted family member. We envision him in a home either with very gentle older children who can cuddle and love Lucca with a light touch or he'd be a natural in a home with retirees who will shower time and attention on this loving guy.
We wouldn't want Lucca in a situation where he's alone for many hours. Instead we would love for him to be taken along on walks, adventures and visits with friends. It's almost impossible not to fall in love with Lucca...his manner speaks of sweetness and positive energy once he feels secure in his situation. Lucca is learning to travel like a champ - he loves nothing more than coming along on errands, socializing visits and any adventure that keeps him together with those he loves.
Lucca is a blank slate just waiting for kind guidance and leadership. Positive reinforcement training classes would be perfect for this guy. This will develop knowledge of cause and effect as well as enhanced bonding with his family.
