My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Palmer! Palmer is a 2 year old male Pomeranian, he weighs about 10 lbs. His fur is the softest we have ever felt! Palmer is a happy boy who loves his foster parents and is friendly with visitors. He loves playing with toys, hiding his bones, and playing with other dogs. His favorite thing to do is to lay on someone's lap, and slither closer and closer to their face so he can say hello and give a kiss. Palmer does well in his crate and even sleeps in it overnight. He walks nicely on a leash and is housetrained. His tail is constantly wagging!

Palmer came to us from a local shelter. He had displayed signs of resource guarding while there, specifically items in his crate. While he has not shown aggression in his foster home, this is something that Palmer will need to work on. He will need an adopter who is willing to give him the structure that he craves while working on confidence building commands and training.

Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.

We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.
