My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We have a goldbar male chinchilla that is looking for his new home. He came to NWI a bit ago, and we estimate he was born 12/1/2015. This makes him right around 4.5 months old, and now is a great time for him to go to his new home and bond with his new family.

This male’s color is called goldbar. It is a whiteish champagne color, which is usually darker on the back of the chinchilla. This color is the same as what you might see called Lowe’s recessive white. This is an unusual color to come across in a chinchilla – a chance to own a color not everyone can say they have!

This goldbar male is a very curious little guy. He’s not at all intimidated by people – he’ll jump right up on your arms if you put them in the cage. He does well with being handled and petted. Though he does like to explore, he calms down right away when you are holding him, and sits nicely to be held and petted. He’s a very sweet boy, and doesn’t bite

This chinchilla is currently living alone, and we do not know if he gets along with other chinchillas. If you are curious as to whether he might get along with your, or one of our, chinchillas, let us know and we’ll see what we can do.

This chinchilla would make a good “first chinchilla” for someone who’s never had chinchillas before.

This chinchilla will come with some food to start you out (2 pounds of Tradition pellets), a goodie bags of chews/treats, and a printed out version of our care packet. He will also come with a lifetime of help and support, should you ever need it. If more supplies are needed, we also sell a variety of chinchilla supplies, from cages to hidey houses to hammocks and everything in between.

Regardless of past chinchilla experience, all potential homes will be asked to read our chinchilla care packet, fill out our adoption application/chinchilla questionnaire, and provide proof of cage. If you are unwilling to do these things, please do not waste our time or yours. No chinchilla will go to a new home without an adoption application being filled out - no exceptions.

This chinchilla is located in Hammond, Indiana (zip code 46324). Sorry, but we do not ship.

This goldbar male is $250 to adopt.
