Wow, look at who we have here? Yes, a most unusual, and, oh, so adorable Devon Rex pixie heartthrob!
Jacob was purchased from a breeder in Arizona. At that time, his current owner had two rescued females (American Bobtail and Japanese Manx). Jacob got along fine with them at first. Then the owner brought in another Devon girl, and this upset little Jacob very much, because he wants his humans pretty much all to himself, and perhaps there is just too much female feline energy for him to handle.
Since he is such a human-bonded kitty who wants and needs his special time with his favorite person(s), he would do best in a home that doesn’t have any cats or just one low-key submissive kitty. A loud household or a working single person gone most of the day would be not be suitable for this adorable boy.
Jacob enjoys being held like a baby, as can be seen in a couple of the pictures. He likes to be by his current owner at bedtime, and she thinks he would be heartbroken if he couldn't be near someone. He enjoys playing with laser light and feathers, and he loves some cat nip. He doesn't mind getting lots of kisses, and who could resist such a precious little face in such a cute kitty body? He LOVES food, so there needs to be a watchful kitty parent that assures he doesn’t become a little beefcake.
He is good with children and is currently living with a small 6 lb. dog. He is litter box perfect and is currently on a special diet because of the elevated stress in the home. Once he gets to have his human(s) all to himself in a calm environment, he could most likely be switched back to regular high quality food.
To sum up this unique breed, the Devon Rex is loved for their impish looks and a playful personality. The breed is known as the pixie of the cat world. Their thin, curly coat doesn’t shed much, making the Devon Rex a low-maintenance breed. Their fur is warm to the touch and feels like soft suede, so the Devon Rex makes an ideal lap cat. Outgoing and friendly, these cats are social butterflies. Devon Rexes are delightful and silly in their antics, serving as a constant source of entertainment.
