My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

FOSTER LOCATION: Twin Falls, ID

Scruffy adventure-dog seeks like-minded, human. Hey, my name is Jack Jack! I’m about 7 months old, I weigh about 12 pounds, and I LOVE adventure! I was pulled from a local shelter a few months ago and I’ve done so much with my time since then. I’ve had Parvo (don’t worry, I pulled through like a champ!), learned to come when called, I know how to sit for my food, play with others, I know how to use a puppy bell and a dog door, I’m getting used to my crate, and I LOVE adventure—have I already mentioned that? My foster mom says I’m no slouch. In fact, I just went backpacking and walked up to 10 miles in a day! I was pretty tired afterwards, but I sure did love it. Check out my photos from the trip! I also love going fishing and swim like I was born to it.

Don’t let my size fool you! If you need a companion for your adventures, I’m the dog for you. I even like to go jogging! I’m pretty vocal when I get excited—that’s just a terrier thing—but I take gentle correction pretty well and let’s face it, I have a really adorable voice. My foster mom has socialized me a lot and I love new situations and get a kick out of meeting new people—I could be a pretty awesome therapy dog, if you’re so inclined. I probably wouldn’t be a great match with cats, unless they’re really confident around dogs, and I prefer to be in a home with children over 12 because of my size. I promise to make you laugh and smile with my antics!

When my adventuring is done I like to snuggle a LOT! My usual routine is to face-plant into a dead sleep on my foster mom’s lap. I’ll sleep on my dog pillow on the floor if I have to, but I prefer to be close to my person. I’m okay being alone while my person is at work and it would be GREAT if I could hang out in the yard. I’d be a grand addition to an existing dog-human home but could probably get used to being an only dog. I’ll be so happy to greet you when you get back from work, grocery shopping, the bathroom, facing the opposite direction, etc! My foster mom says I need a partner who will engage with me and be active in my training since I’m still pretty young. Could you be that person?

Jack is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped.

If are you looking for a sweet, active and ready to go companion Jack Jack might just be your boy. Keep in mind that he is a puppy and all puppies are work; he will need continued training, patience and love.
