My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tonya is one of the sweetest weenies you would ever want to meet! She is ~7 to 8 years old and is a light golden red little girl with soft silky fur. She loves attention and loves to cuddle. She gets along well with the other furbabies and she loves my grandkids - she will climb up in the chair with them to watch TV. Our home has no cats so I don't know how she would respond to them. The only thing she needs is to be fed separately because she was starved in her past life and she wants to eat her kibble and then somebody else's too. LOL She is at a good weight now of 12.5 lbs and she will do well in a home with other dogs or as an only dog. She has lots of love and licks to give so won't you consider her?

If you are interested in adopting Tonya, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to dreamhappytails.org/adoptform.shtml . Tonya 's adoption fee is $350. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Tonya will go to her new home microchipped, spayed, heartworm tested, and up to date on vaccinations. Most dogs' veterinary expenses are greater than our adoption fees.

DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group, and we focus on the Atlanta, North Georgia and Savannah area. Because we are all volunteers, we can consider applications only within an hour of these areas. DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back.
