My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Muffin came into the program as a lively, loving little girl, who would not stray more than 6 feet from her foster mom, and would howl and whine if left alone for more than 60 seconds. She is gradually improving, but will need a permanent home well versed in separation anxiety to help her overcome her fears. She had a few accidents when she first got to her foster home, but since her foster mom figured out her potty needs, she has not had an accident in the house. She will potty on a leash, and is actually a little reluctant to go on her own in the back yard!
Muffin’s foster mom thought that she would do alright confined to the kitchen, but Muffin simply climbed the baby gate! As she gets more comfortable in her foster home, her personality is starting to show, and she can have a mischievous streak! She will jump up and steal your spot on the couch as soon as you leave the room, and she has gotten into more than one trash can and has recently discovered the compost pile! She seems to especially like soap, so her forever home will have to be sure food and any potentially harmful substances are out of reach! Maybe she is the spokesperson (spokes beagle?) for cleanliness; besides her preference for soap, she also wants to climb into the shower with foster mom. A shower after she rolled in something stinky was much easier than a bath!
She is crate trained and will go in readily for a treat. She eats her supper in there, and sometimes goes in on her own for a nap with the door open. She does love her dog beds though, and has one upstairs and one downstairs. She likes riding in a car, and is good with other dogs. She hasn’t shown any signs of dominance. In fact, another dog in the house would be a bonus to help with her separation anxiety. She doesn’t want to be alone!
She would love to have a buddy to play with, and is a pretty active little girl. She would love a forever family that would take her on long walks, and even jogging! She is a bit overweight, so they would need to watch her food and treats, and make sure she gets plenty of exercise.
All in all, Muffin is a very loving little girl, who whimpers and whines with joy when you pet her. It is almost like a cat’s purr she is so happy! Because of her separation anxiety, she is looking for a forever family that has the knowledge and patience to help her overcome it. Could that be you? Please contact Midwest BREW to find out more!
