Here's what the humans have to say about me:
CURRY, FEMALE PUPPY, 57LBS, RICHMOND VA
CURRY IS BEING FOSTERED IN THE RICHMOND VA AREA. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN CURRY, GO TO WWW.MOMSRESCUEVA.ORG AND COMPLETE AN APPLICATION.
Hello, my name is Curry and I am a 9 month old lab/shepherd mix. My start in life was pretty scary, I wasn’t treated very well and me and my brothers and sisters were left outside to fend for ourselves. We didn’t know anything about humans until they came to trap us so as you can imagine I became very afraid of people. Fortunately, MOMSVA rescued us and I am safe. At first I thought all people were bad and wanted to hurt me, but my foster mom is trying to teach me that people are good and that I don’t have to be afraid all the time. It really helps having other dogs and puppies that are more confident in my foster home to play with, they help bring me out of my shell more and more every day.
My foster mom says I need a very special, patient family and she would love it if they had some previous experience with shy, fearful dogs. That way they would know not to rush me, that I need space and time to settle in and then they could continue helping me with my transformation from a scared puppy to a happy puppy. It will take some time, especially in a new home, but she says I am off to a great start! Once I feel safe and secure, I start to slowly open up and become this goofy, playful girl and it makes my foster mom smile. She thinks I am beautiful! I would love a quiet, easygoing household with a family that will take me for walks and buy me lots of toys, I love toys! I think I may do best in a home without children because I get very afraid with lots of commotion and running around, that is unless it’s me!
Having another dog already in the home that is outgoing and friendly is going to be a must for me, as is having a secured fenced yard to play in. We wouldn’t me to get scared and run off now would we! Going for walks is pretty important too because when I am out I start to forget about being scared and enjoy the view! All my brothers and sisters have already found their forever homes, they weren’t as scared as me and that makes me a little sad, but my foster mom says not to worry my special family is out there too just waiting to find me!
