The SADDEST EYES and SWEETEST SMILE. This is her SECOND STAY at the SHELTER -- it's BREAKING HER HEART! The shelter is no place for a dog as sweet, affectionate and tender as Sally. And the STRESS from the shelter is making her HAIR FALL OUT. Someone PLEASE ADOPT or FOSTER this SWEET SWEET GIRL!
Sally's story makes us break on the inside, into about a million pieces. Sally is our 4 year old, gorgeous tan and white baby girl, with the saddest eyes and sweetest smile. Sally was brought into our shelter by her ‘finder'. They claimed that they found her 4 days earlier, and wanted to keep her because she is so "sweet and pretty", but that she wasn't eating and they were concerned. Once Sally was intake, we discovered Sally was underweight and had a high fever. She continued to not eat, and 12 hours later, after an xray that showed impacted stool, and bloat, emergency surgery was performed. Thankfully, immediately after surgery, Sally felt better, was eating and her fever disappeared! It's scary to think how close she could have been to dying if it wasn't for the quick action of our Medical staff. Fast forward 5 months, Sally's ‘finder' ended up adopting her, and returning her. Now, Sally is back, and as scared as ever, and is so in need of a forever home. Sally needs a solo pet home, which we know makes it that much harder. Sally knows multiple commands, and is said to be house trained, and used to sleeping in bed with her former owners. It's incredibly heartbreaking to see Sally back here. About Road to Home Rescue Support - Long Island, NY

About Our Rescue Group...

Road to Home was started to be able to focus on animals in need and to provide support to local rescues. After years of working in shelters and with rescues, we decided starting our own rescue was the best way to do what we do best! We are a 100 percent non-profit and 100 percent of the money we raise goes towards animals in need. Our 5013c is pending. Here’s what we will focus on:

-Providing guidance and support for re-homing an animal.
-Providing medical attention, training, spay/neuter, and food/supplies to a homeless animal.
-Pulling an animal from a euthanasia list or from an unsafe situation and placing them in a foster or permanent home.
-Working with rescues and shelters to facilitate adoptions by doing home checks, adoption applications, and networking to find foster or permanent homes for animals in need.
-Working with rescues and shelters to coordinate adoption events, food drives, and fundraisers.
-Raising money through a Chip-In to help specific dogs with training, medical needs, and adoption.
-Raising funds that can be allocated to specific needs of other rescues and shelters (including medical expenses, training expenses, food, and transport) as well as pledging money to animals in jeopardy of euthanasia.
