Robin's Story...
Bonded Chi Brothers Saved From Being Surrendered to a Municipal Shelter But Wait Patiently For Their Forever Home

Long Island, NY

Rocky (tan/brown) and Robin (tan/wht) are 1.5 year old Chihuahuas who are bonded siblings. They were being surrendered to a municipal shelter by a family member, when they were dealing with personal/financial hardships and no longer able to keep them. Road to Home Rescue Support stepped up and immediately brought them to our vets office where they got the medical care they had never received.

Rocky and Robin are extremely loving and get along well with other small dogs. They have really begun to come out of their shells but will need someone with patience to allow them to continue to decompress. They are in a TEMPORARY FOSTER and have had time to adjust being around other dogs and even older children (who they love). We recommend a family with children 12 years old and up, so that they could continue to adjust in a calmer environment.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Robin, a Wantagh Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Wantagh, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Wantagh.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Wantagh already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Wantagh breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Wantagh paves the way for another one to be saved.
