Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Jax! Jax is a very sweet and loving, young male beagle that is approx. 1 year old and weighs about 23 lbs. He arrived at Penny Angels on 5-28-16 and is ready to find his new home! A kind woman (who eventually became his foster mom) found him lying on a piece of cardboard on the median of a very busy four-lane highway in South Carolina. He appeared to be confused or hurt and was very timid and fearful when she approached him. She noticed that he was limping and had a wound on his side, so she took him directly to a veterinarian. The vet thought he was grazed by a car, but luckily, he did not have any broken bones. His owner never reclaimed him, so his new foster mom took care of him and made sure that he was neutered and up-to-date on all his vaccinations. In his foster home, he became a very loving and gentle boy. He is a little shy at times, but then warms up quickly and showers you with love.
Jax is a typical beagle that should never be left off leash or unattended, even in a fenced yard. He is extremely curious, just like a puppy, and he likes to put everything in his mouth. He responds well to verbal correction, but he does sulk at times when you reprimand him. He loves other dogs and is curious about cats. He shows ZERO signs of aggression toward people, even with food. He is crate-trained and it is HIGHLY recommended that he be crated when left unattended, mostly for his own safety. He will be using a doggie door in Rescue, but his foster mom worked with him on his housetraining. He loves fluffy blankets and will play with his toys, but he would rather sit on your lap. He walks well on a leash and will make a wonderful addition to any home!
Jax is waiting to hear from YOU! If you are interested in adopting Jax, please fill out an adoption application and submit it to Penny Angels.
