My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

✰✰ WILSON Female 3 Years and AVAILABLE - for more photos of WILSON please click http://norcalbcrescue.org/wilson_2016.html ✰✰

Meet WILSON! This soft, quiet girl is about 3 years old, and has a smooth, easy care coat, marked with the classic Border Collie black and white. WILSON epitomizes what we love about border collies; she sticks close by her foster mom, closely following from room to room in the house, always interested in what's going on. While inquisitive and energetic outside, WILSON hasn't let her foster mom out of her sight on the ranch, and prefers to trot alongside as we tend our horse chores, or hanging close by while we do our yard work. We think she is going to be one of those Velcro dogs that picks her person and stays by their side no matter what. WILSON hasn’t engaged in play with other dogs at her foster home, choosing instead to hang with her foster mom or to sniff around exploring her foster home. She is fitting in well with her pack mates, though she will warn the youngsters to back off if they crowd her too closely for too long. WILSON has thus far completely ignored the cats in her foster home, so a home with cats shouldn't be a problem.

WILSON has a very soft personality, in that she isn't forceful and exuberant about trying to get some attention, she will instead run over and sit in front of us, butt wiggling in joy, waiting for the cuddles that she knows are coming! She is definitely a praise oriented dog, she lives for pets and cuddles when she does something right. Indoors, WILSON usually goes to her fluffy bed against the wall in the living room, unless foster mom is on the go, then she'd prefer keeping an eye on everything that's happening. WILSON has a very sweet habit we have discovered . . . she has not displayed the tendency to chew on items, though she will gently pick up a flip flop, slipper, or article of clothing (or all three!!) and quietly bring them to her bed to sleep with. While we find this most endearing, her new owner may want to keep anything of value picked up off the floor if they don't want it hidden in her bed the next morning!

WILSON has proven to be almost completely housebroken and comfortable with chaos that sometimes envelopes an active household. WILSON will only go to a wonderful home where her person or people are home or take her along most of the time, since she is such a people dog. She won’t do well locked in a yard with other dogs as "friends" while her owner is away. She is sensitive girl that bonds deeply with her person and will be happiest being with them as much as possible.

WILSON walks well on a leash, and loves to accompany her foster mom on walks or go for rides in the car in which she rides quietly in a crate. All in all, WILSON is a sweet tempered, easy care dog, who will make some lucky person a loyal, lifelong companion.

WILSON is micro-chipped, neutered, heart worm negative and on preventative, and up to date on vaccinations. If you have an approved Northern California Border Collie Rescue & Adoptions Adoption Application (http://norcalbcrescue.org/adopt_info.html) and wish to enquire about WILSON, please email us at Adoptions@norcalbcrescue.org. WILSON is being fostered in Colusa in Colusa County, California.
