My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cowboy is a 2.5 year old Great Pyrenees mix who recently came in to our rescue as an owner surrender. When we met Cowboy, he was absolutely filthy, smelled like urine, his nails were twice curled over and he had some of the worst matted fur we had ever seen. It was determined that to get Cowboy back to being comfortable, he would need a complete summer shave down. His wonderful vet tech foster shaved him and his mats were so heavy and thick he had to be sedated halfway though just because of the sheer weight of it pulling on him. We aren't sure how he feels about the new hair cut but we imagine he has to be much more comfortable. We were so surprised with how little he is under all that mess!
Cowboy has proven to do wonderful with kids and has done great with the dogs he has met so far. He is neutered and up to date on all vaccinations. Our big fluffy guy is about 54 pounds and could absolutely stand to put some weight on. He needs a family who understands the maintenance that his grown in coat will require and will be dedicated to brushing him daily and keeping him clean and groomed because we can't stand the thought of him ever having to deal with those matts again.
