Torch & Buddy's Story...
Torch and Buddy are a bonded pair of cockatiels. Torch (yellow w/ grey, yellow crest) and Buddy (grey w/ yellow, grey crest) are approximately 6 and 9 years old respectively. The home they are from was Torch's only home since he was weaned and Buddy's second home. They have been together for 3-4 years now. Both can be handled and will sit on your hand once they warm up to you- it takes a while for them to warm up to you. They both have their flight feathers and can and will fly. They have been used to being let out of their cage for a few hours a day.

Torch and Buddy were surrendered due to the health of their owner. All the information given has been per their owner.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Torch & Buddy, a Brookings Cockatiel was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Cockatiel for sale in Brookings, or seeking a Cockatiel from a breeder in Brookings.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Brookings already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Brookings breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Cockatiel breeders who help with Cockatiel rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Brookings paves the way for another one to be saved.
