Sammy is an 8 month old mix of Pekingese/Cavalier/Lhasa Apso mix who is just as sweet as can be. He came to Fuzzy Pawz Rescue when his family realized they did not have the time, energy or desire to care for such a young dog.
We don’t really understand that as Sammy is just a joy to be around. He is a total love bug who loves to cuddle with his people and is a great tv watching buddy. And you are going to want to cuddle with him – his coat is super soft and silky. This little guy is sure to make you laugh as well, he is quite the character! Sammy is very playful and loves to be around his people.
He is still a puppy though and loves to play. He will play fetch and loves to play with other dogs. He likes to roughhouse so he wouldn't be a good fit with older or frailer dogs. He likes to wrestle!
He is reliably trained to a dog door but will need a refresher without one. He is a happy, fun loving boy who gets along with everyone he meets. He does a great job on a leash and gets excited to go on walks! Sammy is very curious and loves to just sit and watch what is going on outside. Sammy will bark but only if someone comes to the door or if he hears a strange noise.
PLEASE remember that while puppies are super cute and fun they are also a LOT of work. Sammy will need to work on his house training and will need continued socialization with other dogs, strangers, etc as he grows. Adopting a puppy is a huge commitment; if you aren't prepared to put in the time, energy and money then please consider an adult dog. He would LOVE to go to puppy class – he’s smart and eager to please so it would be fun for everyone!
Sammy will do best with a people with energy and lots of love to give because he has a ton of both. He will need daily walks and quality people time.
