Abby's Story...
Hi! My name is Abby! I am currently living in a foster home in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. I am about 9-10 months old!

Please read my entire biography for all the information the rescuers have about me and how to adopt:

Abby was rescued out of the Houston floods along with her mom, dad and 3 siblings who were left to drown when the owners left their home to avoid the ever rising water. Our volunteer braved the high water and rescued this beautiful family. Abby is looking for a safe, dry place to rest her head. Abby is housetrained, will sit on command and is learning to lay down for a treat! She walks well on a leash and get along great with the foster's cat, kids and other foster dog. Please consider making this beautiful girl a member of your family.

Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and once approved a meet and greet with the dog. Please note that preference is given to adopters in Wisconsin, but out of state adoptions will be considered. Adoption fee is $250.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Abby, a Fort Atkinson Plott Hound/Pointer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Plott Hound/Pointer for sale in Fort Atkinson, or seeking a Plott Hound/Pointer dog from a breeder in Fort Atkinson.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Fort Atkinson already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Fort Atkinson breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Plott Hound/Pointer breeders who help with Plott Hound/Pointer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Fort Atkinson paves the way for another one to be saved.
