Here's what the humans have to say about me:
When Carrie's rescuer walked down the aisle of the dismal Texas shelter, she was shocked to see the terrified yet adorable (and so sad-looking) Carrie tucked tightly into a cage...her time was up. Farfel's Rescue immediately got a call describing how incredibly cute and sweet this mix is..and the need to save her life. We immediately agreed and Carrie became a very treasured Farfel's dog. She earned a ticket to a wonderful new life in Colorado with her great personality (although initially a bit shy..who wouldn't be?) and her kind attitude toward the world. At just about 18 - 24 months old and a perfect lap-size of 10 lbs, this beautiful girl is a blank slate waiting for positive input and guidance to be the best adult dog she's capable of being.
We'd love to match Carrie to a family that will spend lots of time with this very portable pup..she will fall completely in love with these special people and there's no more loyal companion around. She's a perfect size to accompany her family just about anywhere...and would love it.
Carrie has gotten a ton of hugs and attention at the shelter..and pretty much everywhere she goes. You immediately know she's sweet...and just a touch fragile and vulnerable right now. It's clear that she hadn't been properly cared for in the past and we can't wait for a great individual or family to make her the diva she should be. After some great nutrition and a spa day, Carrie will be a beautiful and fuzzy golden teddy bear (with the cutest ears around).
When Carrie turns her gentle (yet very wise) look in your direction, you can't help but smile at her soft gaze and adorable ways. You can see just a touch of a sign that this young dog has had difficult times. But not for her to be negative..a smile and a wag is more Carrie's style.
Farfel's Rescue is searching for an adult family (or with older, very gentle kids) for Carrie ...it's not that she doesn't like young kids...we just feel she'll be more comfortable and settled with an older family. An active retired couple or individual would be perfect for this beautiful girl. She would thrive on the time and attention that she could share. Carrie is a very loyal and positive-minded dog..that makes her easy to spend time with just enjoying the wonders of life in Colorado.
Carrie would also enjoy time with dogs of similar size who could be gentle playmates. When you're only 10 lbs, even a very well-adjusted pup can be intimidated by larger, rambunctious dogs.
Carrie appears to be shed-free dog. She therefore will require periodic grooming and great nutrition (a salmon oil supplement would be great) to keep her cotton-soft hair healthy and matt-free.
Carrie will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Friday 7/1/16. Applications are currently being accepted for our wonderful Carrie. If interested in this adorable and sweet...and often very entertaining companion, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730.
