If you haven't heard about "Black Dog Syndrome" please go to our website at www.pinkshelter.org under the "Links" tab to read why a great dog like Maggie hasn't been adopted yet. When she wandered up on someone's property in Arkansas it was clear she had been on her own for some time. She was hungry, thin and tired but her tail was wagging so gently, the homeowner took her in. A few months later and now Maggie has earned the nickname "The Booty Shaker" because she wags her tail constantly!!
Maggie really LOVES the company of people! It's like she was born for the sole purpose of being a companion to someone. She's very friendly and thinks kids are the coolest little people ever! She's lived with children as young as a year and she was always very patient and loving with them. She is very smart, playful but has an "off" switch, and really longs for the bond with her people. She's a bit of a shadow so be prepared to let go of privacy. She is housebroken, crates well and is fine being alone. She has gotten along with dogs in the past but prefers dogs who are not really interested in her, so an Only Dog would be ideal. Maggie is about 2 years old, she weighs about 45 pounds but she's not that big -- just dense. She's like a Pocket Lab! We think she's mostly Lab maybe with some Staffy mixed in.
