My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

WALLACE, THE GENTLE GIANT
3-5 year old, Male, Tuxedo, Maine Coon Mix

COURTESY POST: Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is helping facilitate the adoption of this cat. We take no responsibility for the health and medical records of this cat. It is the responsibility of the owner and adopter to discuss this.

If your ideal kitty companion comes in a rather large package (~ 18 lb), and you cherish a sweet, playful, interactive, cute, engaging, big time biscuit-making love muffin, you should seriously consider providing a forever home for Wallace, aka Walt.

Walt is a graduate of the Sacramento County Animal control. He was picked up as a stray, but was in good condition and very friendly. No one claimed him, and because he tested positive for FIV, he was put out to rescue. FIV often happens in unneutered boy cats when they get into a fight over a female where there is biting involved. Nowadays, an FIV positive diagnosis is no longer a great concern. An FIV positive kitty can enjoy a long, healthy, and happy life as long as the caring owner is committed to keeping the kitty inside, providing nutritionally complete and balanced diets, and taking the kitty for regular wellness checkups.

Walt is very popular with everyone who meets him. He adjusts quickly and fits right in. If you like to be put to sleep by a purr monster, Walt will happily oblige you. He likes to sit next to you and, if you don’t mind having an 18 lb. kitty on your lap, he’ll jump right into it and warm your lap in no time. Absolutely perfect in cooler climates!

He is a well-trained boy; he doesn’t spray, is not destructive, uses his scratching posts, and knows what NO means. He likes to be brushed so he can interact with you and use his purr motor. His foster mom is delighted how playful he is and how much comic relief he provides when he plays with a hair band and looks like a cat on a hot tin roof.

Walt likes other kitties and has a tendency to mother younger kitties. He convinces his feline companions to join in play and boy kittens tend to worship him. You can see how companionable he is with his feline friends in a couple of the pictures. He had experience with two cat-friendly dogs and is fine with them. He is tolerant of younger children and is quite popular with older children.
He is a healthy boy and recently had a full dental done.

His foster mom would be delighted to find him a home where he will get the interaction he so craves from his human(s). He would be a sad kitty if he would be ignored. She thinks he will make a great first-time cat because he is just so fluffily wonderful and easy-going.

If you would like more information about this gentle, giant, love-muffin boy, please contact Frauke at 925-784-8244 or loveallcats7@gmail.com or send an Adoption Application.

Please note that Walt is not in a Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue foster home. Our organization is courtesy posting him for Cats on the River (COTR). The adoption fee will need to be paid to that organization.
Walt is located in Courtland, CA (Sacramento area).
