Captain Oreo's Story...
Hi! My name is Captain Oreo! I am currently living in a foster home in Janesville, Wisconsin.

Please read my entire biography for all the information the rescuers have about me and how to adopt:

From Oreo's Wisconsin foster mom:
At 1.5 years old, Oreo has mastered so much! He is eager and willing to be trained (with a treat of course) He knows his name, comes to a whistle, loves (actually LOVES!) walks, sits patiently for his harness, sits/waits to eat, shakes, loves a belly rub, enjoys his 2+ mile morning walk with 4 other neighborhood dogs, runs to his kennel on a "kennel up" command, shakes and only takes up 1/2 the bed! He hasn't had one accident, plus loves car rides too!

Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit and a meet and greet. Please note that preference is given to adopters in Wisconsin, but out of state adoptions will be considered. Adoption fee is $250.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Captain Oreo, a Fort Atkinson Border Collie/Retriever (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie/Retriever (Unknown Type) for sale in Fort Atkinson, or seeking a Border Collie/Retriever (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Fort Atkinson.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Fort Atkinson already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Fort Atkinson breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie/Retriever (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Border Collie/Retriever (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Fort Atkinson paves the way for another one to be saved.
