Meet Josie!
True to her breed, this adorable seven-year-old Dachshund girl is a small dog with a big personality! She loves going on walks and will sometimes even hurry you along by holding the leash in her mouth.
Squeaky toys and mini tennis balls are her favorite. She loves people and cuddling, and although she is good with most dogs she sometimes likes to be the boss of other small dogs, and just has to be reminded to play fair. Still, she enjoys snuggling up to her canine foster siblings and joining them on walks around the neighborhood, car rides, and trips to the beach!
Josie is adventurous and at 7 years old is so full of life and so much love-you will never be short of affection from this girl. Will you be the forever family Josie is waiting for?

About Canine Cupids
Canine Cupids is a rescue in Milwaukee that is comprised of volunteers who have been fostering for various organizations and volunteering at our local animal control. Canine Cupids focuses on Milwaukee’s homeless dogs, but will always help a dog in need when we can — regardless of location.

Our Thoughts on Visual Breed Identification
Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable. For most of our adoptable Cupids we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We think it’s most important is to get to know each dog as an individual! We then do our best to describe each of our adoptable Cupids based on their personalities in order to determine whether they’ll make good companions based on prospective adopters’ lifestyles. Dog behavior is not exclusive to breed — it’s a complex mix of nature and nurture.
