Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Murphy is a sweet and gentle adult male pup who is about 4 years old. He first came to TMH after being picked up by a good samaritan who found him with a broken back. They brought him to a shelter and took some X-rays, but found that Murphy had already begun healing on his own, so no surgery was needed! Since then Murphy has come a long way. He will go for hikes and long walks, and will run and play when he gets excited. He mostly loves just being lazy with his human all day though. Because he likes to lounge, you'll get plenty of opportunities to see his goofy habit of sticking out his tongue when he sleeps :) He is good with cats and most small dogs, but he's nervous around larger breeds so he tends to avoid big dogs. Murphy is crate trained and house trained, great on leash, and will even give high fives when asked.
Murphy is working on his socialization and anxiety, so consistent training with positive reinforcement is needed. He is working on building his confidence around other people and dogs, so he needs someone who will help him get comfortable with new dogs and humans. Doggy daycares are not a good option for him, so Murphy would do best with someone who has plenty of time to hang with him and continue his training. He would do well as the only animal in the house, but has also done well living with cats and another dog.
Murphy is a great dog who deserves a happy home with plenty of love and attention.
