Lady Bow is a 12 pound, 11 year-old, long-haired dachshund, and is the sweetest dog imaginable. She came to Fuzzy Pawz Rescue after she found herself in a local shelter when her human could no longer care for her. A shelter is no place for a Lady so she came to live in a foster home with Fuzzy Pawz.
This lovely girl could not be any more loving; she wants to be in right beside her person to cuddle and be pet and she loves to give kisses. But she is not a pest, always demanding attention. And don’t let her age discourage you. She is very active and happy go lucky.
Lady Bow is house broken, is learning to use the dog door, and walks fairly well on leash although she will pull a bit when first starting off. She loves to ride in the car and look out the window. Lady Bow is very treat motivated, so what she doesn’t know already, she learns very quickly. She’s already learned to sit nicely for her treat.
The girl gets along very well with other dogs. We don’t know about cats, although as calm is she is, she might be fine with a proper introduction. We also don’t know about children, but since she never met a stranger, she would probably love them as long as they were respectful. Due to ladies age we will require no kids in the home under 5.
Lady Bow has long, fine hair that will mat if not cared for. She needs regular brushing, and an occasional professional groom with a hair cut would be appropriate. She was very matted when she came to Fuzzy Pawz, so her hair is a little shorter now than it could be if you wanted it long and were willing to care for it.
