I found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.

Hoku's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, purebred, a special needs pet, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and not good with cats.

Hoku's Story...
This hound mix Hoku (formerly Jack) is in need of a foster or new home. He was adopted from the Humboldt County Animal Shelter last February but his family's circumstances changed and they are not able to give him the attention and training that would allow him to be the best that he can be. He is good with other dogs and children, but too excited about cats. He needs a confident handler who will get him out in the world a bit and help him to understand his boundaries. He came on our Saturday morning pack walk and was very good around all the people and new dogs. We would love to get him into a foster or adoptive home so that we could have a space for one of the other dogs that really needs to leave the shelter to be saved! Does anyone have room in their home and heart for this good boy? Please contact us if you would be interested in meeting Hoku for adoption or fostering.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Hoku, a McKinleyville Hound (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Hound (Unknown Type) for sale in McKinleyville, or seeking a Hound (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in McKinleyville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in McKinleyville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a McKinleyville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Hound (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Hound (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in McKinleyville paves the way for another one to be saved.
