Flora's Story...
My name is Flora and I’m a beautiful black and brown 1- to 2-year-old Collie-Shepherd mix and a new mom. My two pups (Stella and Lisa) and I were rescued from a county facility on the day our time would have run out, if you get my drift. Now we’re enjoying the good life at this great Edisto Island shelter with lots of good food, veterinary care and volunteers who give us all the love and attention we need to become loyal family pets. My people say I’m a great mom and am very gentle and sweet. They think I was house-trained at my former home as I rarely soil my kennel. I weigh about 40 lbs. and am up to date on all shots and spayed. Thank you for taking the time to read my story. I look forward to meeting you.

If you can give Flora the loving forever home she deserves, please contact Margaret at 843-869-3869 or martowe514@gmail.com for an adoption application. All information on the application must be completed including phone numbers and a vet reference (an old one, or a reason why there is not one) before it will be processed.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Flora, a Edisto Island Collie/Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Collie/Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Edisto Island, or seeking a Collie/Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Edisto Island.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Edisto Island already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Edisto Island breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Collie/Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Collie/Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Edisto Island paves the way for another one to be saved.
