Here's what the humans have to say about me:
It's hard to imagine this truly beautiful Schnauzer/Cairn Terrier mix (we're just guessing on her breed mix based on the Texas vet's guess.. whatever the mix..it's great!) in a high-kill shelter in Houston. A compassionate Farfel's rescuer saved Lucy's life and nursed her body and spirit back to joy and well-being.
Lucy is such a sweet dog with a smile on her face all the time! She loves treats and belly rubs and is overjoyed to run and play outside. Lucy is a great hiker as well. She has exactly the appropriate amount of energy for an 18 - 24 month old, 13 lb healthy pup (perfect size and age for a family dog and beyond any babyish ways).
Lucy would do well with a family who spends lots of time at home. It's so much fun to take walks together, play and make visits to the park - she would love that! Lucy would also love to chill on the couch and snuggle and be petted. Lucy loves other dogs of all sizes but doesn't require their company to be happy. Lucy is starting out with great energy...the excellent results of her temperament testing ended with a transport ticket to Colorado and a new life.
Lucy is so smart...very typical of the cross of a Schnauzer and Cairn Terrier. She's bright, cuddly and so loving...clearly having no memory of her scary start. She has all the potential in the world to be an awesome adult companion. Lucy will form firm bonds with her family (as well as other dogs and humans) and learn positive socialization skills through Puppy Socialization Class followed by group Obedience Classes. It does take time and commitment...yet pays off a thousand times over when you have a dog that can accompany you in the world with great behavior.
Farfel's is currently accepting applications for this great companion. If interested in a new best friend and loyal companion, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730.
