Hi, my name is Sandy! I am a one year old light cream female Shar-Pei. I had an extremely sheltered start to my life, so everything is new to me. I am very cautious but am also very curious and am exploring the new big world. I am learning to walk on a leash, but even the leash was frightening at first. The nice people at the shelter and now my foster family have been working with me to make me more confident. It takes me some time to learn to trust new people, but I have made lots of friends so far on my journey. I am still quite fearful of men.
I also need to learn some fun lessons like how to play, eat treats, and receive love! My foster family is also working with me on sitting before we go outside and coming when I am called. I really enjoy being outside the most and would love to find a home with a fenced yard.
I came to the shelter with some dog friends and have done well with other dogs that I have met.
We are looking for a foster or furever home with a fenced yard for me. I am easily frightened, so I am a flight risk. I need a fence for my safety while I get used to my new surroundings.
If you are interested in adopting me, please
fill out an application and ask for Sandy!
