Meehee's Story...
Meet MeeHee
Little MeeHee started her life as a scared wild kitten who was rescued by a Good Samaritan along with her brothers. She has learned to trust humans & discovered toys, so her true personality is starting to show. She is still shy at first, but it doesn’t take long to hear her purr & to convince her to play. MeeHee is shiny black, but her undercoat has a hint of silver which we aren’t sure whether it will fade or become more distinct. MeeHee has had contact with an older child in her foster home as well as other cats. We think she will blossom best in a quieter, calm household. She has been very healthy & has been vaccinated, dewormed, & tested for FeLV & FIV. She will be spayed & microchipped by mid-August when she is larger. We think MeeHee was born in late April, 2016. To meet this sweet, quiet girl, call 540/586-6100 or go to bhsva.org to complete an Adoption Application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Meehee, a Bedford Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Bedford, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Bedford.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bedford already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bedford breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bedford paves the way for another one to be saved.
