Rocky's Story...
Rocky was an owner surrender to the pound through no fault of his own. He is a long legged Boxer/Hound mix (guessing). He has beautiful white socks on his legs and a white tip on his tail. He is very sweet and gentle. He just wants to be with someone and wants to be a house dog. He was a house dog and around children before coming to the pound. He weighs 30 pounds in Sept at 5 months old and is still growing. He is all puppy right now but does understand simple commands. He loves to play fetch. He does come and follow his foster mom around the yard. He does a lot of talking through barking therefore needs not to be in an apartment. He will be very active, and therefore needs an active family. For more information, please call the Bedford Humane Society at 540-586-6100, or go to www.bhsva.org/adoptions-home. htm to fill out an adoption application. This puppy is in a foster home and cannot be seen at BHS Headquarters.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rocky, a Bedford Boxer/Hound (Unknown Type) puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer/Hound (Unknown Type) for sale in Bedford, or seeking a Boxer/Hound (Unknown Type) puppy from a breeder in Bedford.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bedford already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bedford breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer/Hound (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Boxer/Hound (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bedford paves the way for another one to be saved.
