My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I’m Ellie! I’m 4 years old and weigh about 15 lbs. We aren’t quite sure what breed I am, so my foster mom just calls me cute. I have a beautiful midnight black coat and big hazel eyes. I was found as a stray, but I’m ready to have a home of my very own. I am very friendly and affectionate with all people. I’ll even let you pick me up and rub my belly once I know that I can trust you. I get along well with the other dogs in my foster home, but prefer that they give me my space. I would prefer to be in a home with older, dog-savvy children who won’t hug me too tight or pull on my tail. I have plenty of energy to keep up with an active family, but could also lounge on the couch if you’d rather do that!
I am housetrained and crate trained. I am spayed, microchipped, and up to date on my vaccines.

Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.

We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.
