My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sweet Mama Cleo Wants to Be Your New Best Friend
Female, Short-Coat, Medium-Size, Young German Shepherd Good with other dogs: Selective Good with Cats: No Cleo is the sweetest young lady, but she had a rough start and deserves a happy home after all she’s been through. Cleo came into SPR pregnant with puppies. Shortly after arriving, Cleo gave birth to 10 adorable little pups! We discovered during routine medical care that Cleo was heartworm positive, which required her to be separated from her puppies. It was a rough period for Cleo. But she made it and her pups were cared for by SPR’s loving volunteers. Here we are a few months later and Cleo’s pups are now in happy homes. However, are darling girl Cleo is still waiting for her forever family. Her foster mom reports that Cleo likes to be the alpha girls but is getting along well with her pack after a slow introduction. She now likes to play with her foster brother, but she definitely her humans, is getting better on a leash and is starting to show her sweet personality. Cleo is crate-trained and housebroken. Being heartworm positive means she’ll always need close monitoring, but don’t let that deter you from bringing the most darling girl into your home. She is a real love bug. Her smile shows as soon as you meet her! As always, if you are interested in a Saving Paws dog, you must fill out our online application to get the approval process started. We will only schedule meet and greets with an approved application! All staff members are volunteers and aren’t compensated for their time and expenses. Many juggle family and full-time careers while volunteering at Saving Paws. Please be patient as sometimes it takes up to 5 days to process an application.
