King (Halo)'s Story...
Meet King. He was rescued by SPR from the county shelter. He was an owner surrender as he did not do so well with the homes 12 year old boy and his friends. He is big boy and weighs in over 100 pounds. We are working to bring some of that weight off safely and take some pressure off his body. He is in a medical foster with SPR and his foster says he definitely is used to being someone's dog he wants a master to bond to very much. He has let his foster groom him and bathe him, so that was a good test of his temperament. He is house broken and knows basic commands. He an older boy who's life been turned upside down and is overwhelmed and anxious. He is doing well in foster with dogs of all ages and sizes from a Chihuahuas, to an Akita, to a Border Collie. This boy just needs a soft landing to he can live out the remainder of his days on a soft bed with a loving family around him. As always, if you are interested in a Saving Paws dog, you must fill out our online application to get the approval process started. We will only schedule meet & greets with an approved application! Come Meet Our Pets...
Currently our resources do not allow one central facility for our operations. We have many dogs in foster care and board others at the Canine Country Club. They are located in Phoenix, Arizona. All adoptions are by appointment. We do our best to be available and accommodate your schedule. However, being volunteer, we ask for your patience and assistance in all matters. A minor inconvenience is a small price to pay for helping a dog in need.
"Saving Paws" also participates in numerous adoption events year around. We will post these to our website and to this venue as they are scheduled.
Our Adoption Process...
"Saving Paws" works individually with each potential adopter to assure a good match and successful placement. The specific adoption process can vary and includes:
* Telephone and or email consultation. * "Meet & Greet" with selected animals. We request that all family members and pets be present. * Adoption application and reference check. * Home visit * Completion of the adoption process. * Any additional follow up or assistance required.
Adoption fees and donations offset the extremely high cost of veterinary care, food, boarding and numerous other expenses.
