Virgil
Born ~May 2016, Male, Red Tabby DSH

Meet Virgil, one of the Six Winnemucca Redneck Kittens! They had a real rough start in life and despite the odds they all pulled through with flying colors! They have a new lease on life! They are the cutest hillbilly cousins around and are learning a few “manners”! But until they do….
You might be a Winnemucca Redneck kitty….
• if you like to lie in your food dish while you eat!
• if you like a good brawl with your siblings and friends!
• if the litter box is a play zone! SCORE!
And my personal favorite….
• if you wait for your foster Mom to bend over to clean the litter box to jump on her back to get to her shoulder!

All joking aside, no matter their background, we are here to give cats and kittens a chance at life, to act as a safe haven for those in need. These kittens are ones that have been given that chance…now they only need someone to love them forever.

Virgil is the “runt” of the rednecks. He has an orange/red, short length fur and green eyes. He was in sorry shape when he was rescued. He needed syringe feeding and extra care like Orville to get back on his feet. This little guy seemed to have a sadness about him when he first came into rescue.

We believe his siblings, or other cats in the area where he was rescued, liked to pick on him. After over two weeks with us, he has regained his confidence. With his buddy Cooter standing by him and Abner gently playing with him, he is taking an active part in the free-for-all rompings! He is now instigating play with the others. He eats with gusto since there is plenty of food for everyone. He only weighed .7 pounds when we got him and was very frail. He’s no longer frail and is doing great in all aspects of his new, safe life!

The little boy will really like loving and cuddling. He will be a wonderful and loyal companion to some lucky person or family.

Virgil really wants to go home with one of his other Redneck buddies! We would like to see him go home with Cooter since they are the best of buddies. Virgil also likes Abner—so he would also be a good choice.

They will come to you vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and fixed. They will be ready to go home about mid-August.

NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone’s best interest!
