Archie's Story...
Meet Archie! This big handsome 1-1/2 year old purebred Aussie is yearning for his forever home. Archie is house trained, crate trained and walks well on a leash! Currently Archie just uses his crate for a napping area as he is trustworthy loose in the house when his foster family is not at home. Archie is affectionate and loves belly and back scratches. He seeks out the company of his people and is a loyal companion. Archie is agile and fast and loves to entertain himself playing with toys or with his person.

Due to Archie's strong herding instincts, he requires a 6' privacy fence in his new home. Archie will do best with an active adult family, preferably with aussie or herding breed experience who will keep him busy. Archie is protective of his family and home, due to this we feel he should be crated or given a safe room while he works on meeting visitors Archie will benefit from the experience of obedience classes with his new person for both attention bonding and obedience!

Archie's adoption fee is $300 plus MN tax to an approved home
You will find an adoption application at www.aussierescuemn.org
To respect our volunteer foster home's time, meet and greets are only set up with approved applicants

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Archie, a Minneapolis Australian Shepherd dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd for sale in Minneapolis, or seeking a Australian Shepherd dog from a breeder in Minneapolis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Minneapolis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Minneapolis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Minneapolis paves the way for another one to be saved.
