Cooper hasn’t had the best summer. It seems his adoptive mom enjoyed the novelty of him, but after a couple of weeks decided she was over it and she didn’t want him anymore. So now, through no fault of his own, Cooper needs a Home for Keeps.
Cooper is a
very special puppy. He's highly intelligent, unusually attentive, makes fantastic eye contact almost as if to try to figure out what you're trying to say and what you'd like him to do next. He is friendly with everyone and has such a nice way of introducing himself by gently coming up to say hello. Though he's getting big for it, he still longs to be a baby -- picked up and held and climbing in your lap just for extra love. True to his working breed heritage, he's energetic but not hyper, and will probably think it's his job to keep small dogs (and perhaps small children?) in line . . . but most Collie-lovers expect that. Cooper will make the most AWESOME obedience dog. He is super super smart, just craves that connection with his person, listens incredibly well. He'd be a star. He is extremely connected and makes unbelievable eye contact. He already has a great "sit"and "look".He'll do best in a home that understands that a smart dog like him will appreciate a very close relationship with his people -- he's not a "Xmas card dog" . . . although he'll enhance any family photo!!
We're not sure what his true mix is - - he looks very much like a Smooth Collie (might even be pure) but we have to put down 2 breeds and he's graceful like a Greyhound (but we don't think he really has any in him) and he has the coloring of a Catahoula or an Aussie but not their full-on active working-breed temperament. Cooper is about 4 - 5 months old, he weighs about 35 pounds, we think he'll be about 50 pounds fully grown. If you can give Cooper a home where he will be fully appreciated forever, please visit www.pinkshelter.org for more information about the adoption process or click
here for our online application. Full vetting included in his $300 adoption fee. Transport reimbursement is $140. IF YOU HAVE AOL or YAHOO PLEASE CHECK YOUR SPAM FILE FOR OUR RESPONSE.
