Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Onyx is a handsome 3 year old male Cane Corso. He is a laid back guy who knows basic commands, is great on a leash, crate-trained, and housebroken. He is very shy at first but once he warms up and gets to know you, he can't get enough love. Onyx is very food motivated, so he is more eager to please than normal if you are holding a tasty treat in your hand. He also loves to play with toys and balls! He never seems to get tired of playing fetch. Onyx hasn't been exposed to cats or small dogs since he's been at the Bullpen, but we think he'd do fine with a large female dog.
Because Onyx wasn't properly socialized in his early life, he can be wary of strangers and takes time to warm up. He will need an owner that won't ever expect him to be a super social dog and who will commit to working with him to be comfortable in a scary world. Onyx will not be adopted to a family with children.

We highly recommend that our potential adopters fill out an online application as soon as possible, as it greatly expedites the process of finding the right dog for your situation. The adoption app is available on our website (www.bullpenrescue.org) under the 'work with us' tab. If you choose not to fill out an application before inquiring about a particular dog, please briefly tell us about yourself, family, and lifestyle since this will help us determine if the dog you are interested in is a good match.
Our dogs are available for adoption nationwide but preference is given to adopters willing to do an in-person meeting. Please understand that our dogs are not adopted on a first-come, first-serve basis, but rather we strive for a âperfect placement so we know that they will not be failed again.
