Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Charles is one of 5 tiny dogs who were abandoned in their home when the owners moved out. Charles would do well in a calm home with someone who is patient and who understands that he is learning something new every day. He would also do best in a home with a calm dog who can be his buddy but who does not insist on playing a lot. Charles is a purebred Yorkie between 4-8 years old who weighs 6-7 pounds. Charles had to learn how to be a normal dog because he acted as if he had been left in a small room with nothing but white walls and the other dogs to look at. Charles is very sweet and likes to be held like a baby. He gets along well with people once he gets to know them. He also gets along with the other dogs in his foster home. He does not bark much but will bark when the doorbell rings or at strangers. He has started playing with the other dogs in his foster home and we think he needs another dog as a companion. Charles is still working on his housebreaking. In the meantime, he wears a belly band to keep him from having accidents in the house. Please note that because Charles is so small and needs a calm environment, we do not recommend him to families with children under 8.
We are a RESCUE GROUP, not a shelter, and all of our animals are in foster homes. To start the adoption process, email us at adoptions@earstexas.org requesting an application. Submitting an application does not commit you in any way, but helps us make the best match between people and our available dogs. All of the dogs in our program are inside dogs and are completely vetted including all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, free of internal parasites, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention before adoption. Our adoption process includes an application, check of vet records or personal references, interview, neutral site meet & greet with the dog and your family, and a home visit.
