Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Chloe is a beautiful, seven-year-old, eighteen-pound, Cavapoo looking for a very special dog-savvy loving guardian.
A Cavapoo is a hybrid of a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and Miniature Poodle.
Chloe was purchased from a breeder at eight weeks of age and has been loved and well cared for since that time.
Chloe just wants to cuddle with her person. She has a sweet disposition and gets along well with other dogs. She has never met a cat. She is still a puppy at heart and has a lot of life left in her.
She does have history of resource-guarding - specifically with articles of clothing, like socks, underwear and sometimes towels. If she gets these items and someone tries to take them from her she will become aggressive. So, in order to get an object from her it is necessary to trade her for a high value treat.
Since her family has one toddler and a second child on the way, they can no longer work on her issues while keeping the children safe. So, she is looking for an all-adult dog-savvy household where someone will love her while managing her behavior.
Chloe is very healthy, spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, and micro-chipped. She does at times have a sensitive stomach so she takes a Pepcid tablet before bed. She eats grain-free food.
Chloe was crated when younger, but is perfectly housebroken and not crated in the last six years. When left alone at home she may bark for just a few seconds but otherwise she will just sleep.
She lived in a high rise for five years so she is good in elevators and loves to go on walks.
To meet and possibly adopt Chloe, please contact Sheri at sheri@petraits.com to fill out an adoption application or ask questions. Her adoption fee of $300 benefits rescued pets. She is currently being cared for in Glenview, Illinois.
