Whiskers's Story...
"Whiskers" is a cute 3-year old male Terrier mix who arrived at the HSOV on August 17, 2016 after he was picked up in Beverly Ohio by the Washington County Dog Warden. "Whiskers" has a light brown short wiry coat with a cream-colored patch on his chest, a long tail, and an adorable face with scruffy whiskers and short floppy ears. This little boy has a very sweet disposition and is 'over-the-top' friendly :) "Whiskers" walks well on a leash and thoroughly enjoyed his 15-mintues of fame while he had his petfinder/facebook photos taken during a light misty rain. He was quite the gentleman and very well-behaved. Several staff members and volunteers have already fallen in love with this little fellow :) "Whiskers" weighs 25 lbs. He will be available for adoption on August 20, 2016 if he is not reclaimed before that date.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Whiskers, a Marietta Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) dog from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) breeders who help with Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
