My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jake is about 9 years old. He is a very small beagle with a short tail (even for a small dog) and weighs just less than 16 pounds. Jake is a most handsome little guy!
He is a busy little dog, trotting around, jumping in chairs, looking for something—anything--to eat. Jake is pretty much your typical beagle! He is not a licker but does love to be scratched. He will say 'hi' to anyone and also gets along well with other dogs.
Jake enjoys dinner in his crate—mostly to keep him from stealing the other dogs' dinners since he gobbles his down so quickly. Jake is a beagle after all! But he likes the crate and often goes in to take a nap or sleep at night.
He loves attention and doesn't just ask, he demands attention and petting. Jake is a persistent little guy, craving love that he hasn't had in so long. He squeaks when he wants something and sounds like a cross between a rusty hinge and a squealing pig. He really is quite a funny, charming little dog. Jake will bring a smile to your heart.
He potties in the backyard and has not had an accident in the house since the first night he came to me. So far he has not pottied on leash; leashed walks may be something new for him. And I recently discovered that Jake can climb fences and squeeze himself into very small spaces. Jake has not revealed much about his past but did spend a lot of lonely nights in a shelter in Ohio before coming to his foster home.
Jake will make a wonderful, attentive and fun companion. Will you consider opening your home for this lovely rescue boy?
