Here's what the humans have to say about me:
FOSTER LOCATION: Meridian ID
Isn't Joey the cutest 3 year old itty bitty pittie you've ever seen?! He is the perfect medium size dog, weighing in around 30lbs. He is the perfect snuggly size!
This little guy loves to have fun! Do you have kids? Great...Joey will run around the yard or wrestle with them on the living room floor. We are working on his need to gnaw on you when he plays. (he doesn't bite hard, but want to break him of the habit!) Do you have a dog? Wonderful...he loves to play with dogs, but is respectful of those dogs that don't want to play with him.
Do you like to snuggle? Joey is your guy! He will curl up on your lap, next to you on the couch, or in bed...he's not picky! He will also snuggle with the dogs when he's done playing. Joey loves to be outside and is often found exploring the yard, making sure the squirrels stay in the trees, or laying in the cool grass. He will whine at the door when he needs to go outside, and usually a small bark when he wants back in. Smart guy! He has had some potty accidents in his foster home, but he's getting better and better at letting us know when he need to be let out.
Car rides mean adventure, so he's getting a lot more comfortable with it (bribery works...HE LOVES TREATS!). He will now willingly hop into the car and sit in a seat, watching out the window. Joey doesn't like loud noises...vacuum, hair dryer, door slamming, garage door opening, car window opening on the freeway...those things make him jump and leave the room/area. He is very food motivated, so we try to distract him with a little training treat when he gets scared. A good treat can change ones attitude pretty quickly! We are working on kennel training. He goes in with a treat, but doesn't like to be left there and will bark. He does well on leash, but gets a bit excited for birds & squirrels!
Toys don't seem to interest Joey, unless they are chewy or his dog mates are playing with one. He loves the nylabone & regular bones to chew on as well as a Kong fill with a treat. He has chewed on a few things that aren't his - so we make sure we have plenty of Joey approved bones around. (make sure to put your flip-flops away!)
Joey is a fun addition to our home as a foster dog. He is funny, loving and down-right adorable when he pitter-patters down the hallway. If he sounds like he'd fit in great at your house, please fill out an adoption application today!
