Betty's Story...
SAY HELLO TO BETTY!! Betty is a beautiful 3 year old golden retriever/Labrador mix who just came into LFS with her son, Burt. Betty is a super sweet girl who has done so well in keeping her baby boy safe, but now that LFS has stepped in to give them both a second chance at life, it is time that Betty finds a forever home of her own. In the second picture, Betty is on the left. 😊 Unfortunately we just found out that Betty is heartworm positive and will begin treatment. She will need to go to a foster or forever home where she can remain calm for a few months until her treatment is complete. We hoped to get her in a foster home as soon as possible, but we are currently very short on foster homes. If you are willing to open up your heart and home and interested in fostering Betty, please visit http://www.labradorfriends.com/foster-2/.
Once we get her to a foster, we will be able to tell you a little bit more about her personality!
If you're interested in adopting Betty, please visit http://www.labradorfriends.com/how-to-adopt/ to fill out an application. If you are already approved, please email labfriendinfo@gmail.com. Thanks!
Stayed tuned for a post about Burt later today!!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Betty, a Cumming Labrador Retriever/Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Golden Retriever for sale in Cumming, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in Cumming.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cumming already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cumming breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Golden Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cumming paves the way for another one to be saved.
