My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Decker is new to DREAM. He is a tiny little sprite of a puppy weighing in at ~4 lbs and ~5 months of age. He's a little bit dachshund, a little bit chihuahua, and a whole lot of F-U-N!!! He's going to be a little guy, even when full grown. He's ALL PUPPY - wiggly, silly, happy, playful. He's also got tons to learn in life. We are searching for an adopter that will be home with him during the day while he figures out what to do & where to do it. We are also searching for someone that will teach him all the finer things life has to offer. He gets his neuter on Sept 7th and will be ready to go home shortly after that.

If you are interested in adopting Decker, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to dreamhappytails.org/adoptform.shtml . Decker 's adoption fee is $450. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Decker will go to his new home microchipped, neutered, heartworm tested, and up to date on vaccinations. Most dogs' veterinary expenses are greater than our adoption fees.

DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group, and we focus on the Atlanta, North Georgia and Savannah area. Because we are all volunteers, we can consider applications only within an hour of these areas. DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back.
