Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Henry
Born ~2013, Male, Brindle Tuxedo Maine Coon Mix
Henry is a compact, brindle, tuxedo Maine Coon mix. His Main Coon heritage is reflected in in his size, his face, his fur, and his personality. He is a complete absolute love and very much a character. Henry, when last weighed, was 20 lb. One could say he is a tubby, or one could say he is a tank. In truth, he is both at the moment. Overall, he is a very powerful Maine Coon with the heart of a lamb. And from the moment you meet him and he rolls over on his back and waives his paws at you, you know he is a Maine Coon personality.
Henry and his sister (?) Alecia were rescued by a Purebred Plus volunteer visiting an Animal Control shelter. Their original owners had to move to assisted living (no pets allowed) with no choice but to surrender them to the shelter and hope for the best. Henry and Alecia were beloved pets, indoor only. Initially both had difficulty coping when their world suddenly came crashing down. But Alecia bounced back, told Henry to buckle up, and now that they are in foster, they are doing just fine. Henry now reaches out to humans for companionship, play, and affection as does Alecia. Henry and Alecia are not bonded – they are friends, but can be adopted apart. Both would do great as solo kitties.
Henry looks a little older than Alecia (3-4) but that may just be because he is a boy and she is a girl. In the shelter, Henry would hide behind Alecia inside an open carrier. When Alecia came out to say hello, there was Henry stuffed in the back. First. you saw Henry’s cute little front paws with dainty white toe socks, then you saw his magnificent Maine Coon head and yellow green eyes, and then you saw Henry the Huge with big muscular shoulders and body. fuzzy back feet. and finally his shaved tail. Henry got a “lion cut” on intake. And it suits him (except for the tail part). He has been seen to strike Simba poses. But perhaps the best part of Henry is his sweetness. This cat is into all types of affection – ear scratches, pets, tummy rubs, head buts, cuddles, and lap fixes. He can be very silly when he playing and very funny even when he is sleeping. He loves people, he loves life and he loves food. He listens to everything you say.
Henry is an excellent choice for first time kitty owners – for solos, couples. or families. He is low maintenance, very polite. and very tolerant. In foster. he avoided cat conflict and never struck out in fear or anger. He probably would do well with a cat-friendly dog who already knows that the cat is in charge; or in a family with cat-savvy children; or as a second cat with the understanding that his focus would be on his humans first, his cat companions second.
Henry is neutered, up to date on vaccines, is FELV/FIV negative, dewormed, and microchipped, and has a flea prevention applied. He checks out completely healthy, but he does need to lose weight. Even after that, he still will be a very big cat.
Henry's foster mom is Diane in Sacramento, CA. If you are interested in Henry the Huge with all of his Maine Coon mix love and affection and would like to add him to your life, please contact Frauke at 925-784-8244 or loveallcats7@gmail.com, or send an Adoption Application.
