Braxton's Story...
This adorable and happy boy is Braxton, a 4 year old maltese that came to us from our Newark facility when he was found as a stray. Braxton is the type of dog that you immediately fall in love with the first time he puts his tiny paws on you and asks you for some attention. He's a total sweetheart! It seems as if Braxton may have spent a little too much time in a crate in his former home. He has a habit of circling to the left frequently. Our veterinarian thoroughly examined him to rule out any medical cause to this and thankfully there is nothing medically wrong, but Braxton seems to have a lot of nervous energy. The good news is that as soon as you give him some attention, he calms right down and stops circling. After he's had some exercise it stops also. He will need a family that will give him plenty of exercise and attention and eventually, Braxton will most likely stop it all together. He walks very well on a leash and is playful and fun loving too. Braxton gets along just fine with both dogs and cats too and he just loves people. This sweet little guy is ready to move on to the wonderful home that he deserves. File#26573 8/3/16

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Braxton, a Forked River Maltese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maltese for sale in Forked River, or seeking a Maltese dog from a breeder in Forked River.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Forked River already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Forked River breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maltese breeders who help with Maltese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Forked River paves the way for another one to be saved.
